Nicotine Pouches FAQs

Snus, pronounced ‘Sn-oo-s’, is an orally administered pouch containing nicotine. Snus offers an experience similar to other nicotine sources like vapes and cigarettes, but without the severe lung and carcinogenic effects. Originating in Sweden centuries ago, these pouches serve as a gradual nicotine release method, with each pouch delivering nicotine over approximately an hour.

The legality of nicotine pouches varies from country to country. Customers should be familiar with local regulations before making a purchase.

No, Snus does not contain tobacco; alternatively, nicotine is made available through synthetically produced nicotine salts. Additionally, Snus does not fall under the umbrella term of ‘Smokeless Tobacco’.

Snus is not associated with the risk of oral cancer or any other known forms of cancer, as it does not contain any form of tobacco. The misconception that Snus leads to mouth or oral cancer arises from confusion with chewing tobacco, a significantly more toxic form of smokeless nicotine.

The absence of tobacco leaf distinguishes Snus from other “smokeless” nicotine products such as chewing tobacco and snuff. While all these products contain nicotine, Snus utilises nicotine salts, in contrast to the tobacco in other products, which harbours various harmful chemicals responsible for most related health concerns.

The only reported side effects of Snus are a sore mouth, hiccups and stomach irritability. These symptoms should not present if Snus is consumed within one’s level of nicotine tolerance.
